18 Games

My Dad has just left to return home to Atlanta. We spent the morning continuing our Scrabble battle. We ended up playing 18 games, winning 9 a piece. The scrabble game is put away, and Dad is gone, but I know we'll have a tie breaker when he returns...

La-La

This is a photo of my good friend La-La (a.k.a Laura S.).

She and her husband Chris, crack me up and make every Friday a day to look forward to! Most Fridays we meet up with many other friends at Lefty's Bar and Grill to celebrate friendship and good times. This particular photo involves our Aussie buddy, Dave, helping La-La put on a 4-year-old's vest she happened upon in the bar.

Patience

Patience is a virtue that I've been working on during the last few years. When I worked for Clear Channel and Maxxis, I was always on the go! Running to catch a flight in Atlanta's airport, or sitting in traffic in Atlanta after a long day's work, fuming at the car in front of me for not moving faster! Since I've moved to Sun Valley, I have S L O W E D down considerably...Now when I travel I no longer care if I get stuck in a long line or get upset if my conecting flight is missed...because, there's simply nothing I can do about it, so why waste my energy on getting worked up?! I still need to work on my patience in the workplace...we all learn at a different pace, and we all prioritize our tasks in a different manner.

Cheatwood Photography

I LOVE photography. I love seeing my work published in catalogs, newspapers, magazines, etc... Today while shooting Scott USA's snowmobile line, I handed one of my camera bodies to Reidar to shoot a photo of me, well, shooting photos. My Mom loves my photos, but will sometimes mentions how she wishes she could see more of her daughter on the other end of the lens. So, Mom, here you go!

It's Been Great, 48!

Today's Monster Hit Challenge on the half-pipe on Baldy marked the final event of the 48Straight weekend. It was a fun weekend that was spent, not nursing hangovers, but one spent with friends, and doing what I love, shooting photos!

Franti

So Brittany got a babysitter and we hit up the Michael Franti concert. I had never heard him before, and now I am a HUGE fan. Brittany was determined early in the night to make her way to front stage. So, being the little fire pistol she is, she pushed her way up front with Carla and I in tow. We had a blast being right in the mix of things, sweat and all! I had my little point-and-shoot, and took some decent shots of Franti, considering...but my favorite pic of the night was this self-taken one of me and my buddy!

48Straight

This year's 48Straight event is a continuation of the inagural event from last year. Last year Sun Valley was the first leg of the series, during a time that provided harsh conditions to shoot photos due to the extreme cold. Today's event was held during much better conditions...however, with the warm spell we've seen lately, it made for snow conditions where the top layer of the snow is a thin crust, opening to a deep powder underneath. I decided to take a different approach to shooting the event by starting at the top of the course and making my way down to the bottom, shooting along the way...What a mistake! I spent the majority of the snowboardercross struggling to pull myself out of the snow after each step forward! To say the least, I was very frustrated by the time I made it to the bottom of Dollar Mountain...However I was able to learn a lesson from it!

Girl's Best Friend

It is so odd to think that only two years ago, I was making comments like "to me, Dogs are like babies...fun to play with, but best to give back to their owners at the end of the day." But here I am today, loving my Sofie to death and making an ass out of myself by dressing her in clothes! Granted, she does need some sort of added warmth in the wintertime, but I truly enjoy dressing her up!
